rain on my windowpane

So the first two weeks of school are done. done with! dunzo! I'm a little bit behind, but honestly it's only been 10 days. I'm not too worried. Mostly it's weekend catch up. Also, it's my last semester, so...

Monday of this week I went to see Chromeo at the Bowery Ballroom. I had a hell of a time. Kid Sister opened and she was the greatest thing since [delicious low calorie] sliced bread. Honestly. I turned to Marla and said, "wow, do you think she would be my friend? maybe come to my next party?" Probably not, but a girl can dream. She looked great too, very classy but sexy at the same time. And her dance moves were out of orbit. Fantastic. Chromeo took a little while to come out, but it was worth it. The people around me were digging it. I obviously was too. I think Dave 1 was also digging it. Around campus he always looks very calm and collected, and of course very, very hip. On stage he was grinning like an idiot. It was great. And p-thugg? Gangsta as always. Marla does his "spread your arms and point two fingers in the air while bowing your head" move and she looks automatically cooler because of it.

The alcohol was flowing freely among the crowd if you know what I mean, so there was no lack of dancing. The other day I looked on brooklynvegan, and woot!

There I am. My face anyway. (between the two bearded guys)

Last night we had what you could roughly call a ladies night out. We ventured out of our heights area and hit lolita, pianos and finally the dark room. I danced my little booty off. And there was a guy that danced with me! Seriously dudes, way to my heart. Dance like a fool with me and I am like puddy in your hands! Maybe I'll even buy you a sandwich!

The only problem with the night was that I was wearing my friends pumps which are probably about a half size too small for me and by the end of the night I was so happy dancing I didn't care. Fast forward to a few minutes later when I walk out of the dark room and feel like my feet are breaking and my toes are going to snap off. I was limping, taking my shoes off periodically... coming back uptown, I'll admit I was that girl. I couldn't help it. Still, it was totally worth it. No doubt about that!

So here's hoping for a happy February. Make it good!
