...SLOWLY...BACKING...AWAY

Now, I may not be an expert at these things - but I don't think this is the best thing to put in your EPK if you want to be picked...

it might scare interns like me.

short description:

"I DON'T DESCRIBE MY BAND TO PEOPLE IN ELEVATORS BECAUSE I'M NOT A FUCKING OFFICE BOY"

long description:

"Greg Pier began writing and recording songs in 1998 and released his first cumulative work as the Mandate of Heaven in 2000. The Mandate of Heaven played their first live show in spring of 2001, featuring THURSDAY keyboardist Andrew Everding on drums and Dave Kane on bass. A number of lineup changes occured over the next couple of years. Steve Cerio, famed illustrator and veteran of Matador recording artists RAILROAD JERK, joined the band in 2003. Gregg Johnson, Pier's former bandmate in the FLASHING ASTONISHERS, joined the band just recentley. The band has had some trouble being classified into one marketable genre. Not Nasty like Metal, Not Chunky like Chunkcore, not Screamy like Screamo, not Emy like Emo, not, you know, fuck it I hate writing this shit. It is so much easier to define something by saying what it isn't. It isn't like anything you have ever heard before.
Pier's stubborn DIY ethic has probably hindered the spread of the band's music outside of the Central New York area. A jaded, misanthropic worldview that comes through in the lyrics and music has also prevented the band from taking the first few steps up the ladder of corporate success. Basically, the only person that is going to be interested in this band is a person that is looking for good original music, rather than just another smiling bunch of employees to sell thousands of records to retarded fifteen year olds."

uh... okay, greg...
